The trailer for Average Joe Season 2 has just arrived, bringing back Black-ish star Deon Cole. The clip offers the first look at Cole’s return to action as the titular lead, Joe Washington, as he gears up to face a new set of challenges.

Average Joe Season 2 premiered on Paramount+ on Wednesday, August 19. The first two episodes will arrive together, followed by weekly releases every Wednesday. The second season is slated to feature eight episodes in total (via Deadline).

Created by Robb Cullen, Average Joe is a dark comedy-drama television series that first premiered in 2023. It follows Joe Washington, a regular plumber, whose life erupts into chaos when he discovers that his recently deceased father secretly worked for the Russian mafia and stole $10 million from them. What follows is a deadly race against time as Joe is thrust into a life of violence.

Joe Washington’s Cape Town mission raises the stakes in season 2

Average Joe Season 2 picks up right after the events of the first season. The trailer shows Joe Washington trying to move on, but the Russian mafia is on his tail again. Desperate to keep his family safe, Joe and crew embark on a globe-trotting journey.

“I have to get my family back together,” Joe tells the team. “And if that means going to Africa, then I’m going to Africa,” he added.

Season 2 promises more gripping action scenes, this time against the stunning backdrop of Cape Town, South Africa, where Joe and his crew head in search of answers. There, the team faces new lethal enemies and encounters more life-or-death situations while trying to uncover secrets.
